Kent and Essex Detectives Crack Down on Sussex Man’s Drug Operation


In Kent, serious crime detectives have apprehended and formally charged 55-year-old David Caradas from Wadhurst in East Sussex with conspiracy to supply class A drugs. The arrest took place in Tunbridge Wells High Street on Monday, 11 December 2023.

The investigation, led by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, focuses on Mr. Caradas’s involvement in the trafficking of class A and B drugs, encompassing substances such as cocaine, ketamine, amphetamine, and ecstasy. He faces charges related to two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and two counts of conspiracy to supply class B drugs. Additionally, he has been charged with encouraging the commission of offenses through an encrypted device during the period between March and April 2020.

Following a search of his car and residence in Best Beech Hill, law Police seized various items, including a Rolex watch, an imitation firearm, and electronic devices, notably multiple mobile phones. During the operation, a woman was also detained on suspicion of money laundering but has since been released on police bail.

Mr. Caradas made an appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 12 December, where he was remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled to take place at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, 9 January 2024
