Police are seeking witnesses following a severe assault at a residence in Broadbridge Heath.
The incident occurred on Ellis Road at approximately 3:20 PM on Monday (8 January), where a 19-year-old man was reportedly attacked inside a home by three individuals.
The victim received hospital treatment for a significant injury to his hand and has been subsequently released.
Following an intensive area search, a 15-year-old boy from the locality was detained on suspicion of inflicting serious bodily harm. He has been conditionally bailed pending further inquiries.
Efforts are underway to identify and locate any additional suspects, as well as to fully ascertain the details of the incident. The police presence in the vicinity will be heightened during these investigative activities.
It is understood that all individuals involved are acquainted with each other, and there is currently no perceived broader danger to the public.
The suspects are described as being between 5′ 6″ and 6′ in height, in their late teens, and were all wearing dark attire.
The police are urging anyone who witnessed the assault or observed any unusual activity in the area at the time to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who may have relevant CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell camera footage from the area.
