BTP seeks information on man involved in sexual assault on Ashford-Rye train

British Transport Police (BTP) are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man in connection with a sexual assault that occurred on-board a train between Ashford International and Rye railway stations. As part of their efforts, they have released an image of the individual believed to have crucial information related to the incident.

According to BTP, the incident took place at approximately 11:30 am on 27th May. The victim, who was accompanied by three friends, was en route to Camber Sands when they boarded a train from Ashford to Rye. While standing in the carriage, the victim was sexually assaulted by a man who was also present in the same compartment.

As the train arrived at Rye railway station, the suspect hastily donned a black surgical mask and quickly fled from the scene. Detectives assigned to the case now believe that the man depicted in the released image could possess vital information that could aid in their ongoing investigation.

BTP is urging anyone who recognizes the individual or possesses any relevant information to come forward. Those with information can reach out to them either by sending a text message to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40. please quote reference number 396 of 27th May
