Family Pays Tribute to Heidi Visser, Victim of Eastbourne Road Tragedy

A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, now released on bail

Tributes are pouring in for Heidi Visser, a beloved personal trainer, hairdresser, and mother of two, who tragically lost her life in a road collision in Eastbourne. The accident occurred around 4:25 pm on April 1 near Shooters Bottom Car Park on Beachy Head Road and involved four vehicles, including Heidi’s red Honda motorbike.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, 29-year-old Heidi from Battle died at the scene. Following the incident, a 19-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.

Heidi’s family released a heartfelt tribute, celebrating her life and contributions: “Heidi was a personal trainer and hairdresser and was very well known and loved in Heathfield, Uckfield, and the surrounding areas. Her passions included bodybuilding and motorbikes, but most importantly, she had a passion for her children. Heidi loved horse riding in her younger years and grew up on the farm with a love for animals. She was a partner to Kieran who she absolutely adored. Heidi was taken far too soon but will be loved forever.”

The family has requested privacy during this challenging time as they mourn their loss.

Sussex Police are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. Information can be sent to collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting Operation Chisel, as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
