Youths in distress in the water rescued by Lifeguards in Brighton

Brighton and Hove Lifeguards Liam & Morgan rescued two casualties on Monday.

Two 15 year olds were reported to be in distress in the water by the Palace Pier struggling to make it back to the shore. They had drifted with the tide near to the Albion Groyne [see photo], which creates strong fixed currents and is tricky to swim against.

They clung on to the stanchions of the pier and our on duty tower lifeguard Jake deployed two guards into the water.
