Appeal after man was assaulted in Southgate, Chichester.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted in Southgate, Chichester.

It followed a report of an altercation outside The Foundry between about 1.30am and 2am on Saturday, November 19.

A 22-year-old man was assaulted and sustained a serious injury and attended St Richard’s Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

He is described as a white man with brown hair and a short beard, wearing a dark coloured jumper, black trousers and white trainers.

It is believed he walked away from the area in the direction of the train station.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to report it to Sussex Police online or call 101 and quote serial 608 of 22/11.
