Yesterday Emergency services attended a cement lorry that overturned near Rye

Yesterday Sussex Police Roads Unit attended a single vehicle RTC on the A259 at East Guldeford involving a cement lorry with a total weight of 32 tons.

The vehicle has overturned on the bend and taken out the crash barrier, rolling into the river upside down, fortunately the driver escaped with minor injuries.

The road was closed at 10:30am and remained closed till late in to the evening when it reopened with Temporary traffic lights to allow complex recovery and clear-up works
