Surrey Police are urgently seeking witnesses after an incident yesterday afternoon on the M25 motorway resulted in an 11-year-old child sustaining severe injuries.

On Monday 29th May 2023 at 3:41 pm, officers from Surrey Police were called to respond to a collision on the M25 between Junction 5 and Junction 6, on the anticlockwise carriageway. The incident involved a single vehicle. Prompt medical assistance was provided to the injured parties at the scene by the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance.

While the driver, a 45-year-old individual, and a 13-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated accordingly, the 11-year-old child suffered serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for critical medical care.

Surrey Police is now appealing to the public for any information that could assist their investigation into the incident. Witnesses who were present at the scene or have any relevant details are urged to come forward. Additionally, Surrey Police is specifically interested in obtaining helmet camera or dashboard camera footage that may have captured the collision. Valuable information can be provided by contacting the Surry Police and quoting the reference CAD 0415 of 29 May

The aftermath of the collision has necessitated the closure of the affected section of the M25 for an extended period.
