Technical glitch disrupts 999 emergency calls

The Government confirms that BT’s backup system for 999 is running smoothly. You can continue using 999 for emergencies as usual. However, if you encounter any connection issues, remember these alternatives: 📞

Dial 101 for Police and Fire & Rescue Services.

Call 111 for Health-related concerns.

10AM: A widespread technical glitch is wreaking havoc on the emergency call system, resulting in numerous failed connections for individuals dialing 999.

Authorities, including the ESFRS and SECAmb, are alerting the public to the issue and advising them to contact the alternative emergency numbers if can not get through,

Advice is to call 101, in case of emergencies until the problem is resolved.
