Police appeal for witnesses after serious collision in Emsworth

Police are seeking witnesses to a severe collision that occurred on Main Road in Emsworth. Emergency services swiftly responded to the incident on Thursday, July 13, after receiving reports of a collision involving a white Mercedes Sprinter van, a silver Ford B Max, a cyclist, and a pedestrian at approximately 3:10 pm.

Tragically, a 75-year-old man from Southbourne sustained life-changing injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. His condition remains serious as medical professionals work tirelessly to stabilise him. Additionally, a 62-year-old man from Southbourne also suffered serious injuries and is currently in a stable condition under medical care.

Two other individuals involved, a 73-year-old woman from Chichester and a 51-year-old man from Waterlooville, sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. Fortunately, they have since been discharged, with their injuries deemed less severe.

In their efforts to piece together the events leading up to the collision, Sussex Police Road Unit officers are urging any witnesses or individuals with pertinent information, including CCTV footage, mobile phone recordings, or dashcam footage, to come forward.
