Underground cable fault causes power cut in Bexhill-on-Sea

A power cut affecting hundreds of residents in the Bexhill-on-Sea area has been caused by an underground electricity cable fault on the high voltage network. The outage, which occurred at approximately 17:43 today, has left 678 customers without power. While the affected postcodes have been identified as TN39 3 and TN39 4, there is a possibility that other areas may also be impacted.

UK Power Networks representatives have expressed their regret for the inconvenience caused to customers. They were not aware in advance of the potential power cut but are now actively working to restore electricity to all affected properties as quickly as possible. Initial efforts by engineers in the control room have already resulted in some customers regaining power in the affected area.

A team of engineers has been dispatched to the site to investigate the fault and assess the extent of the damage. Once their assessment is complete, they will initiate the necessary repairs to rectify the underground cable fault. Residents are assured that every effort is being made to ensure a swift resolution.

The estimated timeframe for the power to be restored is between 20:30 and 21:30 this evening. However, it is important to note that this is an estimate, and any unforeseen complications during the repair process may extend the duration of the outage. Regular updates can be found here .
