Dispersal order issued in Brighton amid anti-social behaviour

Following a series of reports involving anti-social behaviour from a group of young individuals, authorities have implemented a dispersal order around Brighton city centre this afternoon, 12th June.

The disturbances first caught the attention of police around 4:20 pm at Churchill Square. Witnesses described the group causing a significant nuisance, prompting local police to intervene and they will be maintaining a presence throughout the evening.

A dispersal order, a legislative tool often used to mitigate such disturbances, has been invoked. This gives officers the authority to compel individuals to vacate a specified area. Should those dispersed choose to return within a set period, they may face further police action.
