Brighton assault last night: Man, 30, hospitalized, police appeal for information

A man was left unconscious following an assault in the early hours of Saturday, June 17 on King’s Road, Brighton. Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses and any possible information that could assist their ongoing investigation.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the incident after receiving a call around 3:40 a.m. reporting a man unconscious in King’s Road. The victim, a 30-year-old man from Brighton, was immediately transported to the hospital where he currently remains.

The incident reportedly occurred near the junction of King’s Road and West Street, just prior to the 3.40 a.m. emergency call. Officers are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed an altercation in this area around the reported time.

As part of their preliminary investigation, police arrested an 18-year-old man from Eastbourne on suspicion of the assault. The young man remains in custody as of this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

Sussex Police are keen to gather all available information to help uncover the circumstances of this distressing incident. Witnesses or individuals who might possess any form of evidence such as mobile phone footage or dashcam footage are strongly urged to come forward.
